Although I am working at making a living out this, yoga lessons should be accessible and affordable. OSU students, staff and faculty all receive a 20% discount on classes and lessons, but there are still other ways to save!
When you schedule your class or lesson online (not using the MindBody app...their rules, not mine) and attend said class or lesson, you earn 1 point.
Uh, that's easy.
Bring a friend to class that has never been to the studio, you earn 5 points.
Hand someone a referral card (pick some up at the studio) that they, in turn, bring with them to class, you earn 5 points. You don't even have to come to class with them!
1 point = $1
Once you accumulate 10 points ($10), you can use the Rewards Points upon check out when you purchase your next class or lesson. You are required to use all of your available points. If you're buying a 5 class pass ($65), you cannot use 10 now and 15 later, for example. You must use all 25 that you have accumulated.
Log into your MINDBODY site (not the MindBody app).
Click on the My Info tab.
Select Account from the sub-menu.
Scroll towards the bottom to see the balance under the Rewards section.
Your first class is FREE, but if you schedule it online, you earn a point!
Also, a great way to kick start this for yourself is to get the $45 New Student Unlimited Monthly pass. Come as often as you can, earn points, determine what package will be the best for you, and then (if you've accumulated 10+ points) use them against the next pass.
Here's my view on this.
Classes are more fun with more people in them, and, yes, I'm trying to earn a living. So, enticing people to come to class is good business sense. However, I also want you to practice yoga regularly, so if earning points is a way to incentivize you to do that, mission accomplished. Also, as I mentioned at the top, yoga should be accessible and affordable. If it's really inexpensive or even free all the time, it loses it's value to the average Westerner. You have no skin in the game, as it were. If you pay for it, you'll see the value and you're more likely to attend regularly. But, you shouldn't go broke.
The way I see it, the rewards program is a win-win.
