Yoga Happiness Studio offers group classes and private in-studio yoga instruction. Lessons are built for beginners as well as experienced yogis. We offer a variety of different yoga styles that are perfect for students of all skill levels and body types. Lessons are influenced by Asthanga, Kudalini, Hatha, Yin, and Iyengar. Increase your ability to live your yoga on and off the mat!
The word “yoga” means “union” and refers to the spiritual union between the mind and the body, among other things. (There are a lot of "unions" this word refers to, and we talk about that in class!) By regulating the breath and moving the body into poses or “asanas”, yoga creates harmony within the body and mind. Asanas are specifically designed to sculpt the body, release muscular tension, and tone internal organs. By linking breath with movement, yoga strengthens the mind-body connection. Regular participants benefit from less stress and anxiety, a more centered mind, and an enhanced sense of well being. Health benefits include lower blood pressure, increased strength and flexibility, better stress management, and long-term weight loss. Regular yoga practice with Yoga Happiness Studio will cultivate mindfulness and presence for a healthier lifestyle.
Yoga Happiness Studio welcomes all skill levels. If you are new to yoga, and live or work in or around Columbus, this is a great way to begin your practice. We recommend wearing athletic clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Burgundie (YHS owner and teacher) and Kelly provide assistance to support your practice and help you move freely into the full expression of each pose. Together we can work on the form of yoga that works best for you.
Burgundie and Kelly help experienced yogis go deeper in their practice while respecting individual needs. All yogis are encouraged to move towards a mindful practice that balances the physicality of asanas with breath work and meditation. Whether you are new to yoga or have made it a part of your lifestyle for many years, enter each lesson with a beginner’s mind and be open to the possibilities of your practice.
